Garden GnomeFirst off, I have to state I’m doing this blog post purely out of mischief. Today, I ran across some garden gnomes for your yard and was reminded that my brother-in-law Scott is rather weirded out by them. He thinks gnomes are kind of creepy. My sister Lorri and I are very compassionate about this issue, we have them everywhere. It’s all in good fun of course and Scott can certainly give some animated discussions regarding our garden gnomes. Hey, they’re cute, not creepy.

SmartShopper Grocery List OrganizerI was browsing around the internet last night and ran across the neatest product called the SmartShopper Grocery List Organizer. I was so impressed with it; I just couldn’t wait to blog about it. The SmartShopper is an electronic grocery list organizer that helps you keep track of products you need from the store. You can simply attach the SmartShopper to your refrigerator or somewhere handy and when you run out of a product you just speak into the SmartShopper and it will add that product to your grocery list. When it comes time to go to the grocery store you simply print out your list and you’re ready to go. No more trying to create a list just before leaving for the store and forgetting half of what you needed.

Children's BooksI love to read so this offer from Scholastic caught my eye. Now that school is out and summer begins, they have started a Kids Summer Reading Challenge. The challenge encourages children of all ages to read books throughout the summer to keep their reading skills sharp. Studies show that children that read at least four books each summer tend to do better in the fall when they return to school.

Thompson Chain Reference BibleIn a day of scientific hypothesis requiring proof by observation, to result in the acceptance or rejection by a community as truth, faith has taken a back seat and is not considered in the final analysis. Yet it is common to blindly accept theory as scientific fact. We go so far as to teach our children, as fact, an origin of life based solely on an unproven hypothesis. Is this a practice of faith in a theory?

Christ taught us during a discourse with [doubting] Thomas saying, blessed are those who haven’t observed, yet believe. His very words teach that faith has greater importance than observation.
